Ordering terms
The fruitcarrier PANTHER and the sistervessel PUMA have been built 1930 by the shipyard Bremer Vulkan for Afrikanische Frucht Compagnie A.G.. The vessels served between Camaroun and Hamburg and carried bananas. 1938 both vessels have been purchased from the Kriegsmarine and altered to fleet tenders. They have been renamed to LECH und ISAR. 1947 the ex PANTHER has been alterd to passenger vessel and renamed MARE LIGURE. 1949 ? 1963 the vessel served as ARTSA for an Israel owner. Ex PUMA has been purchased after the war from Russia.
