Mine sweeping boats M 13 - 16 have been built by H.C. Stülcken in Hamburg. Nr. 17 - 19 constructed by Stettiner Oderwerke and M 20 - 34 delivered by Flender Werft in Lübeck. Main alternation against M 3 - 12 are reduced height of main deck bulwark and frame davit for the motor launch. Since 1939 main deck was not covered with wooden planks any more and aft mast was shortened. Also some of these boats are purchased after the war. M 24 was purchased by the United States and served as mine sweeper in the Northern Sea after the war. 1947 this boat was taken over by the French Navy renamed AILETTE. 1957 escort vessel renamed WESPE. | |
