SMS BEOWULF has been ordered as a ship IV class and built by A.G. Weser, Bremen. 11.4.1892 vessel has been commissiond. 1902-1904 BEOWULF was lengthened about 7,13 m got a second funnel. When WW I has been broken out BEOWULF was a part of coastal protection. 1916 vessel was used as a target for submarines. After a short use as an icebreaker and decomissioned at 17.6.1919. BEOWULF has been broken up 1921 in Danzig.
